IDAIA – International Development for Australian Indigenous Art – is pleased to lead two guided visits of the exceptional
Yiwarra Kuju: The Canning Stock Route exhibition.
This fascinating exhibition displays more than 120 contemporary paintings, cultural objects and remarkable new media works, which reclaim the untold Aboriginal history of the Canning Stock Route – the world’s longest stock route through the deserts of Western Australia. In addition to their plastic and aesthetic qualities, these artworks carry an important historical dimension, embodying the memories of the Aboriginal peoples living alongside the route. Initially shown in the capital city, Canberra, at the National Museum of Australia, the exhibition also travelled to Perth, Western Australia, the state of origin of the artists.
