For its 9th edition, the Festival du Cinéma Aborigène Australien in Paris is honoured to welcome Tara June Winch’s Carte Blanche “RESIST”.

Considered one of the greatest contemporary Aboriginal writers, Tara June Winch has written 3 critically acclaimed novels. Her latest work, The Harvest, translated by Actes Sud (2020) and winner of the Miles Franklin Literary Award (the Australian Goncourt), is currently being adapted for the screen.
In this innovative and committed carte blanche film program, Tara is honouring the directors she personally loves, and opening up a dialogue with the emancipatory artistic and political currents of the Aboriginal new wave.

Presented by non-profit association The Cloud Lab, the Festival du Cinéma Aborigène Australien in Paris is the only event in France that honors Australia’s First Nations cinema.Founded in 2016, the festival offers an unprecedented panorama of contemporary Indigenous-led cinema, amplifying the voices of Black Australian filmmakers whilst paying tribute to a culture that dates back thousands of years. Through innovative and bold cinematographic expression, in fiction, documentary and short film forms, this event showcases the vitality of a unique cinematic perspective on the world, unique to Blak Australia.
